Brisbane builders proved their expert craftsmanship and resilience during challenging times at the 2022 Housing & Construction Awards.
From stunning homes and trendy towers to an exquisite mosque and energy-efficient warehouse, the awards showcased a diverse selection of the best of the best.
Master Builders welcomed a full house to the event at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Center on Friday, 15 July. The caliber of entries in this year’s field was nothing short of exceptional, despite the challenges hampering the industry.
The judging panel was delighted with the quality of construction, impeccable finishes, and level of detail on show in every project.
This year the BUSSQ Building Super President’s Award was awarded based on the quality of workmanship within the Residential category and took into account the builder’s attention to detail and overall craftsmanship.
The stunning, double-level Reynolds Home overlooking Brookwater Golf Course boasts innovative use of construction techniques and superb finishes, earning KJ Constructions the sought-after award.
KJ Constructions also walked away with a win in the Individual Home from $750,000 up to $950,000 category.

REYNOLD’S NEW HOME – 32/30 Botanic Crescent BROOKWATER
The Reynold’s New Home sits in a private gated sanctuary, overlooking the international golf course in Brookwater. The site has a reasonable slope down from the road with views to the southeast over the Golf Course.
The bespoke design by KJ Constructions Q Pty Ltd that utilises the slope down from the road in a positive way to provide views to multiple rooms. The design also incorporates all the retaining needed for the site within the home structure. No external retaining walls were needed to finalise the landscaping.
The home is 546m2 which includes 4 car accommodation, large outdoor covered areas on both levels, up to 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 powder rooms, large living areas on both levels with the main lounge, dining and kitchen to the upper floor taking in the best views. The lower level serves as a second home with two of the bedrooms, bathroom, living and media room. A truly multigenerational home.
The lower level has 2.8m ceilings to the exposed concrete slab over, and the upper floor has 2.7m ceilings with a conventional trussed roof. Double insulated and passive design protection from the western sun has proven to add successfully to the homes function.
Smart design meant that we achieved nearly 546m2 including covered areas for less than $1,650 per m2, including the suspended concrete floor structure.
