Residential Building Project

The Long Pocket House, built for Helen Huang is a unique and modern contemporary home.

The site was challenging in that there was little room and close to adjacent neighbours. A pool and external covered area were to be built to the boundary. Overcoming all those hurdles meant engaging with the neighbours and maintaining good relationships with all concerned.

The home caters for the essentially 2 storeys, albeit, split over two levels. It has 6 bedrooms plus a study, 6 bathrooms, an oversized garage with large storage, private master suite and external zone, a pool, a cinema and a large outdoor entertaining space. It has all the bells and whistles and the finished product is a testimony to the client, the builder and trades involved.

The Long Pocket Home was designed to be fresh, modern and in keeping with the adjacent architecture; not to shout at its neighbours, merely to enhance the neighbourhood.

The elevated ground floor has the main living, dining and kitchen zones, front and rear external covered areas, a study, sixth bedroom with ensuite, Music/Library room, Family/Media Room and laundry. Level 1 has five ensuite bedrooms with personal ensuites and includes the grand master suite. A magnificent chandelier hangs from the Ceiling adding a feel of Grandeur and sheer excellence which embraces the Architecture and Design of this Unique and Modern Home.

This project was as much about the best use of the site, as it was to achieve the Multiple zones for and extended family with children, busy parents and Grandparents.
